Taro Miura Exhibition: Picture Books and Tableaux

Taro Miura (b. 1968) made his debut as a picture book author in Europe in 2004, and has since published a number of high-profile books in Japan, including "Stuck" and "Chiisana Since then, he has published a series of high-profile picture books in Japan, such as "Kutsukatta" and "Chiisana osama" (The Little King). His picture books, which captivate readers with their excellent sense of design and development full of ideas, have been translated and published in many countries. Miura began creating picture books after visiting the "Bologna International Picture Book Original Drawings Exhibition" at the Itabashi Art Museum. The museum has accompanied Miura in his activities and transitions for more than 20 years since his first selection for the Bologna exhibition in 2001.

In 2014, he began presenting a series of tableaux (paintings) using stencils, and the Museum of Modern Art Bologna An exhibition was also held at the Museo d'Arte Moderna in Bologna. In addition, in recent years he has been working on landscape sketches.

Taro Miura's picture book and tableau work will be presented in this exhibition, which also includes original picture book drawings, new tableaus, and landscape sketches that are being shown for the first time.
