| Contents | The Tokumaru Kitano Shrine Lion Dance is a lion dance performed by three lions, a male lion, a female lion, and a middle lion, and is said to have been introduced from Nagasaki Shrine in Toshima Ward during the Genroku period (1688~1704). It was designated as an intangible folk cultural asset by the ward in 1983. On the day of the festival, the Tokumaru Yotake Dance, also designated as an intangible folk cultural asset by the ward, will be performed. |
