The Bologna International Picture Book Original Drawing Exhibition (commonly known as the Bologna Exhibition) is organized by a book fair in Bologna, Italy, dedicated to children's books. The Bologna International Picture Book Original Drawing Exhibition (commonly known as the "Bologna Exhibition") introduces the winning entries of the children's book illustration competition organized by the Book Fair for Children's Books in Bologna, Italy. The five-member jury, which changes every year, is composed of five different nationalities, and the selection process is based on diversity. The competition is open to both published and unpublished works, and is known as a gateway to success for new writers.
Fiscal 2022 saw a record number of 3873 entries from 92 countries, with picture book author As a result of the selection process by a panel of five judges, including picture book author Nana Furuya, 78 artists from 29 countries were selected for the awards. We hope you will enjoy the original picture book illustrations with a variety of expressions, themes and techniques.
  In the special exhibition, new picture books by two illustrators who have been selected for this exhibition in the past are presented.
