Japan's first museum specializing in calligraphy
Japan Calligraphy Museum
The museum opened in 1973. The museum has a collection of about 5,000 works, including old calligraphy brushes, master calligraphers of modern calligraphy, and works by contemporary calligraphers. In addition to calligraphic works, the museum holds exhibitions that introduce calligraphy as a traditional Japanese art, together with seals, lacquerware, ceramics, and paintings.
