Household waste is incinerated at high temperatures and disposed of hygienically. The heat is supplied to the nearby Takashimadaira Heated Swimming Pool, Tropical Environmental Botanical Museum, and Takashimadaira Fureai-kan. The 130-meter chimney, which can be seen from anywhere in the vicinity, is one of the representative views of the Takashimadaira district.

In order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the tours and the opening of green spaces during the cherry blossom season have been cancelled.
