RIKEN had a facility in Itabashi Ward that can be called the birthplace of physics, where Nobel laureates Hideki Yukawa and Shinichiro Tomonaga conducted their research. Today, the Omori Materials Engineering Laboratory has a research facility for advanced processing technology in the Monozukuri Research and Development Collaboration Center No. 2 Building in Itabashi Ward.
