The Geto-bashi Bridge was built to allow the old Kawagoe Highway to cross the Shakujii River. There are several theories about the origin of the name, and it is said that the bridge was rebuilt as a stone bridge based on the money of a man named Rokuzo, who used to receive donations from travelers at the foot of the bridge. The Rokuzo Shrine was built in honor of Rokuzo's legacy.
