A must-visit spot when visiting Rengeji Temple
Horsehead Kannon Hall
This is a hall outside the precincts of Rengeji Temple. The main deity enshrined here is the Bodhisattva Matou Kannon, who is said to protect cattle and horses, and is a 2.5-meter high round carved stone statue. It is said that farmers of the time would bring their breeding horses to visit the temple on fair days.
