This Shingon sect temple was founded in the early Edo period (1603-1868) as a temple dedicated to Enmei Jizo. The principal image of the temple, a seated Bunju Bosatsu, is said to have been created during the Kanbun period (1661-1673). The temple is the family temple of the Iida family, which served as the main innkeeper at Itabashijuku, and the graves of Shizuka Iida and "Omorigawa," one of the Iimori inns at the inn, are located in the cemetery. Bishamonten, one of the Itabashi Seven Gods of Good Luck, is also enshrined here.
