Heian Jizo (guardian deity of children)
On June 10, 1945, there was an air raid on Minami-Tokiwadai and Higashi-Shinmachi, resulting in more than 270 deaths, 155 injuries, and 2,467 victims. The Heian Jizo was built by local people in 1948 to pray for the repose of the souls of those who died and for lasting peace.
