This shrine is the local guardian of the former Kamiitabashi Village. The date of its establishment is unknown, but the current main shrine was reconstructed in 1852. The local museum on the grounds of the shrine has a collection of more than 1,000 items from the former Kamiitabashi Village, including farming equipment, daily necessities, and production tools, and is designated as a cultural asset of Itabashi Ward (the museum is closed due to planned floor repair work).
