court ladies' residence (in the inner Heian Palace)
A temple of the Toyoyama sect of Shingon Buddhism. It is estimated to have been founded at the end of the Muromachi period (1336-1573). It is called Tsuchiki-ji because it houses earthenware excavated from the surrounding area.
