Notice of Cancellation of the 63rd Itabashi Fireworks Festival in 2022

The 63rd Itabashi Fireworks Festival in 2022 has been canceled.

The 63rd Itabashi Fireworks Festival," which was announced as a candidate date for August 6, 2022 (Saturday), has been cancelled due to the formulation and submission of the "Safety Plan for Infection Prevention" required by the Cabinet Office in its "Notes on Restrictions on Events and Use of Facilities Based on Basic Measures Policy. The organizer has decided to cancel the 63rd Itabashi Fireworks Festival because it is virtually impossible to take measures to "avoid crowding among visitors" and to "identify and manage participants," two of the specific measures required in the safety plan, as required by the Cabinet Office's "Basic Policy for Restricting the Holding of Events and the Use of Facilities.
The organizers have been studying various measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, while closely monitoring trends in new coronavirus infections and referring to the policies stipulated by the national government, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and the ward governments regarding the holding of events, so that the event can be enjoyed by many people with peace of mind.
The decision to cancel the event for the third consecutive year was truly regrettable and a difficult one to make. We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the event and to those involved for having to cancel it.
